With a title  like God, Google and the Government, you might wonder where in the heck is she going with this post. Believe it or not, this title popped into my head before I was even clear on what exactly I would be discussing. I even said to myself  “what a random thought”. It was kinda like when I start putting an outfit together for a major event, and I choose the shoe first. I see the shoe, love it and I know that the rest of the look will fall into place.

After this thought planted itself in my brain, I realized how much these three powerhouse forces  are playing a major role in my life. But lets be clear, the other two are no comparison to God. God is a mainstay in my thoughts and existence, of which I could do nothing without. God is my strength, my guiding light, my source of wisdom, and a constant companion. I really don’t know how others manage a life without having a spiritual connection to a higher power. I’ve learned over the years that it’s only in God that I can depend one hundred percent. All hope lies in him. This faith transcends all doubt in my personal, and business life.

I know I’m not alone when I say I have allowed the progressive advancement of technology to interrupt the amount of time I dedicate to  friends, family and reading. I’m particularly concerned about the lack of reading of my bible. I’m on the internet all the time, either googling the answer to something, or of course working on content for my blog. Then there’s Instagram, a whole other beast in itself. Technology is definitely a blessing and a curse. Its so good in so many ways, but the addiction is wide spread and rampant. I can not count the times in one day that I’ve went online for one thing, but ended up spending twenty to forty minutes down the rabbit hole. It’s like I have zero control. This is a issue that only God can help me with..lol. Pray for me.

I thank God everyday for the internet though. It has allowed me to to stay well informed about everything thats going on in the world. The political climate here in the United States is crazy. The tension in the air is so thick, you can cut it with a knife. What I’m super excited about is the election results from a few weeks ago. They were record breaking for women, and the democrats gained control of the house again. Whew!  I’m a New Yorker, and we have the youngest woman ever elected to congress right here in this state, New York’s own Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez. Can we talk about the future being female? Well it sure as heck is!

Faith, technology and politics, the trifecta that is my life, and I’m sure the life of millions of others. Three things that play such a different role in my life, but are very much intertwined. All three are at the forefront of my mind at some point in the day, each day. God..Google, and the government..not such a random thought after all.
