Sunflower Fields

It’s funny how I feel like I’m the only person not really looking forward to the summer season each year. I like summer and all, but living and working in the city can make it a bit uncomfortable, to say the least. The heat and humidity can really get out of control when you combine it with the exhaust from the buses, trucks, and cars. I’m not even gonna begin to talk about the hellish heat going on in the underground train stations…that is next level..lol!

But, with all that complaining, when the season begins to slip away from me, I panic. I’m one of those people who are the happiest, seeing others happy. Little children eating ice pops and ice cream, while playing in the park, is a sight I can’t get enough of. One of my all time favorite things about this season, is the sprinklers. If I spot a sprinkler, bets believe I’m hopping in. I become a kid all over again. I recently found my way out to a farm, with a huge sunflower field.. right outside of NYC in New Jersey, called Brodhecker Farm. I’m a city and southern girl at heart, and that was such a treat.

Summer nights are by far what I enjoy the most. There’s just something magical about walking on the pier, or hanging out with friends, and or love ones on a summer night in the city. I love the laughing, eating, and chatting about everything under the sun. When I’m out enjoying myself on a summer night, I never want it to end.

It’s mid August already, and the summer season is rapidly winding down. I can’t believe how fast the weekends are zooming by. Summer 2018,  I didn’t celebrate you coming in, but like all the summers before you, I’ll mourn your departure. Summer, you are life. I only have right now, and I plan on enjoying every last bit of you.
