Friends, the woman who helps diversify my circle..where do I start? I always hear the term “keep your circle tight” being thrown around often. I believe this to be true. I’m also a firm believer in keeping your circle diverse. When I think about friends, and the importance of having a diverse circle Justyna Kedra founder and CEO of www.werule_ immediately comes to mind. Although we don’t talk often, when we do, we just pick right back up where we left off. Never in a million years would I have thought a twenty- something year old woman, born in Poland would inspire me so much. If you were to overhear our conversations, it would sound like two high powered business women engaging at a think tank, because we are..lol. She’s one of the smartest people I’ve ever met, and is always utilizing her resources to help other women.
We both bring diverse perspectives, ideas and experiences to the relationship. But unlike my friendships with people in my own age group, Justyna brings that fresh new, I can do anything energy. It’s also extremely interesting to witness the resilience, dedication and confidence that many female millennials like Justyna have. She has knocked down doors, bursted through glass ceilings, kicked butt and took names. Most importantly, she has started her own business, and is thriving. She isn’t waiting for someone to offer her a seat at the table, she built her own. Talk about a bad ass.
We shot these pictures about a month ago, just because I hadn’t seen her in quite a while, and I wanted us to connect and do something fun together. Just the other day I ran into Justyna on the train in my neighborhood, which I found out is now her new neighborhood. I believe there is no such thing as coincidences..woohoo! We chatted for a brief moment. Her youth, coupled with her visionary skills, never fails to ignite a spark in me every time we speak. Even when our talk is only ten minutes long, its significant.
I’m super excited, and I look forward to seeing Justynas growth in business, and also in her personal life. Grateful is how I feel about meeting this dynamic young woman, and I see our friendship and possible business ventures soaring. I was about to say the skies the limit, but there are no limits to where we can go my friend.
